Snausage's funny quote

I never thought I would post about our FHE two weeks in row, because they are usually nothing spectactular, but I thought this was so cute. Tonight we were getting ready for FHE and Snausage said to me, "Mom, can we have a lesson on Noah and the lion pit?" He said he learned "that one" in Primary. Tim and I totally cracked up.

"This is a test...this is only a test"

This week we did a "72 hour kit drill" for FHE. When Tim walked in the door from work on Monday night he told the kids to gather up everything they would need for three days and meet us in the car in two minutes. They all ran to their rooms trying to gather stuff up. When two minutes was up we all jumped in the car and left. We stopped at Aunt Jenn and Uncle Matt's house and sat on the front lawn to discuss what everyone had brought. Hog thought Tim was serious and was crying because he wasn't able to gather anything up except for his Webkins and he forgot his shoes. Snausage grabbed his shoes and all three of his Webkins. (Can you see what my children's priorities are?) Albert had a scarf ("in case we have to go somewhere cold") and lots of clothes. She didn't think to bring a bag to put it all in. Hog was quite relieved when he heard we were only doing a drill. I had put one of our 72 hour kits in the back of the car and we showed them what was in it and told them that each of them had a kit in our downstairs closet and if we ever had to leave our house quickly they could go to the closet and grab their backpack and everything they needed would be there. Tim talked about being prepared keeps us from being "nervous" (Hog's word) and scared. We drove to Dairy Queen and had a little treat and called it a night. It was a great FHE and I highly recommend it. It was one of those "small and simple things" that I am sure our kids won't forget.
